Hello, I am Ettore Bechis. I was born and raised in Torino, Italy. Shortly after a study of graphic design and a short-span in the Italian Army, I left my hometown to travel the world and work as a scenographer (set-designer) in tourist resorts; this was quite an amazing experience because I had an opportunity to meet many people from all walks of life. Later, I opened an art studio where I designed sets for Rai and Mediaset television networks and shopping centers. Some months later, while working in Brazil, I noticed an advertisement in a local tattoo magazine called, Kit para Tatuagem (i.e., a starter kit for tattooing.) It piqued my interest; I'd always been fascinated by tattoos, but the techniques seemed so complicated and mysterious! Yet, the temptation was too strong, so I decided to give it a try. I bought the kit and sought advice from a Brazilian tattoo artist/friend, who explained the fundamentals of tattooing. And from that moment, for approximately a year, I tattooed for free in order to develop my own style and technique.
When I returned to Italy, I met Alessandro Doria of Alessandro Doria Tattoo Studio in Casale Monferrato, which began a fruitful collaboration that allowed me to further improve my technique and style. Later Alessandro introduced me to Claudio Pittan, and I began to collaborate with Pittan Tattoo in Milan. Between 2007 and 2008, I lived in South Beach (Miami, Florida) for six months and worked at the following local tattoo studios: MOSH PITT, INDUSTRY, and SALVATION TATTOO LOUNGE. In 2009, after working at IRON CROSS TATTOO by Pablo Sela in Santa Barbara, California, I returned to SALVATION TATTOO LOUNGE (1413 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL ). In 2010, I returned to Italy and opened my own studio, ABSOLUTION TATTOO LOUNGE, in Cantu'. And then in 2014, I decided to move back to Miami Beach and follow the American dream by opening my own, private studio, OVERLORD TATTOO STUDIO, which was quite successful. However, during the Covid19 downtime, I made a decision to move to an area in Florida that would allow me to expand my creative capacity, and that place was/is Palm Coast, Florida. My official opening was May 14th, 2021. The past 20 years has been an incredible ride. What a blessed opportunity life has afforded me.
